What are Complete Dentures?

Complete dentures are required for the upper or lower jaw (or both) when most or all of your natural teeth are missing. They are a full set of replacement teeth - up to 16 teeth for the upper arch and 16 teeth for the lower arch - that are attached to a dental plate. Prior to receiving your dentures, an intermediate step can be taken so that while you are waiting, you have an appliance that will help with chewing and speaking. These immediate dentures are a temporary measure that can be placed even if you’ve just had extractions. Your finished and final set of dentures will be custom-fitted once your gums have healed, usually in 8-12 weeks. Complete dentures so that you can thoroughly clean your them and your mouth.

What are Partial Dentures?

For patients who are missing one or a few teeth only, a partial denture consists of the required replacement teeth which are also attached to a dental plate. Like complete dentures, partial dentures are removable and regular home-care cleaning will keep them in excellent shape and looking completely natural.
